*The dangerous and deadly sideshow arts finally get a woman's touch*

The Pyrate Sisters All-Girl Sideshow is captivating audiences with their enchanting new take on the classic sideshow skills that have thrilled audiences for generations.

The Pyrate Sisters (simply pronounced "pirate") is an all-girl sideshow featuring glass eating, glass walking, straitjacket striptease, escapism, human blockhead, fire eating and the world's only "corset-shaped bed of nails."  No ordinary carnies, the ladies insist on vintage Hollywood glamour in their appearance and impeccable manners, even when performing dangerous stunts.

The Pyrate Sisters are:

- A.V. Phibes - "Sister AV Pyrate", is an award winning illustrator and lowbrow artist (evilkid.com) widely known for her for dark, funny and sexy take on mid-century pop culture.   Also an accomplished humorist and cartoonist, her semi-regular online strip "Kitty and Robot" enjoys a loyal cult following.   Sister AV received much of her sideshow training from her many years performing in sideshows and nightclubs as "Vulnavia, Queen of Nails".

- The Lady Aye - "Sister Aye Pyrate", was named "an up and coming burlesque babe" by The Village Voice's Best of NY issue. Aye is also co-founder and co-chair of The Miss Hollywood Follies - Burlesque Against Breast Cancer and a former rockabilly promoter.   She is also currently training for her admission to the Sword Swallowers Association International.

Based out of New York City, the Sisters have performed individually and together up and down the East Coast, universally delighting audiences.   They have been special guests of such diverse events as Starshine Burlesque, The Slipper Room, Sweet & Nasty Burlesque, Coney Island USA's Burlesque by the Beach, The Peek--a-Boo Review (Philadelphia) and more.  

In addition to their performing, Sister A.V. has served as a judge for the world famous Mermaid Parade, had solo gallery shows for her art and is a formidable cook.   Sister Aye's extra-curriculars include modeling for Mode Merr ( http://www.modemerr.com ) fashions and even appearing on Discovery Channel's hit show "Cash Cab" as a contestant.
