Sad Kitty is the creation of artist A.V. Phibes. Inspired by japanese Kawaii art, GIG's Pity Kitty paintings, Dick Bruna and more, this little crying cat is loved by Goths and other angst ridden subcultures, as well as anyone who's ever felt sad and wanted the world to know it. In response to the frequent complaint that Sad Kitty is "too depressing", Phibes created Mad Kitty, the angrier cousin to Sad Kitty, who replaces the single tear with a brazen show of butthole.
